The upper is a single piece of 2.4mm full-grain leather — fewer seams to fail, and a re-waxable hide that only gets better with miles. Underfoot, a nylon shank stiffens the midsole for edging on talus, and a Vibram Megagrip outsole bites on wet rock and loose dirt alike. A gusseted tongue keeps grit out on creek crossings, and the boot is resoleable, so a worn tread is a repair, not a replacement.
