Honest pricing

What can change the price, and what is not included

Things that can raise the fee

  • Property in more than one state, like a cottage up north or land out west (each extra deed from $350)
  • A business with partners, where agreements need writing or updating
  • A family member with special needs, if you start in the Will or Trust Plan
  • Very unusual tax situations, where we bring in your accountant

Not included in any plan

  • County recording fees for deeds, which are usually modest
  • Court filing fees, where probate turns out to be needed
  • Preparing tax returns, which your accountant handles
  • Investment or insurance products. We don't sell any

You will always know the full fee before you pay anything. If something changes halfway through, like a new property, we tell you the cost first and you decide.

How paying works

  1. Step 1: A free first meeting

About an hour. At the end, we confirm your plan and flat fee in writing. Take it home and think it over.

  2. Step 2: Half to begin

When you approve your plan design, you pay half and we start drafting. Paying over three months is fine, at no extra cost.

  3. Step 3: The rest at signing

Pay the balance on signing day. Free small updates for the next 12 months are already included.

Questions about fees

All questions
Why flat fees instead of hourly billing?

So you can call with a question without watching the clock. You know the full price before we start, in writing, and it does not change unless you ask us to add something.

When do I pay?

Half when you approve your plan design, and the rest at signing. Trust administration and probate fees are usually paid from the estate.

What is not included?

County recording fees for deeds (usually modest), court filing fees where probate is needed, and tax return preparation, which your accountant handles.
