Example outcomes

Wins, partial wins, and cases we lost.

Ejemplos de resultados, incluidos los casos perdidos.

Immigration cases do not always end the way families hope, even when everything is done right. We show the whole picture, so you can judge us on honesty, not on a highlight reel.

Example outcomes

These are fictional example outcomes written for this demo website. Every case is different. Past results do not predict or guarantee the result in your case.

Words you will see above

A "partial" outcome is often real protection. Here is what these terms mean.

Withholding of removal
Protection from being sent to one specific country. It has no one-year deadline, but it is harder to win than asylum and gives fewer benefits, for example no path to a green card through it.
Voluntary departure
Permission to leave the U.S. by a set date at your own expense, without a removal order on your record. It can keep future options open.
Bona fide determination
A first finding by USCIS that a U visa case is real and complete. It can bring a work permit and protection while the person waits.
Motion to reopen
A request asking the court to open a closed case again, for example when a hearing notice never arrived.

Free case evaluation

Every case is different. Let us look at yours.

The first 30-minute case evaluation is free, by phone, video or in person, in English or Spanish.

We are lawyers, not notarios

We are lawyers, not notarios. In the United States a notary public cannot give legal advice or file your immigration case. At Amparo, every case is handled by a licensed attorney.

Somos abogados, no notarios. Ask anyone who offers to help with your case for their bar number, and check it with the state bar.
