LINEWORK

Built for the regulars

Linework opened on Market Ave in 2014 with two chairs and a borrowed mirror. Today it's five chairs, five barbers, and a lot of the same faces every few weeks. That's the whole idea.

The story

Marcus Bell cut hair in three shops over seven years before opening Linework. The thing he kept noticing: clients didn't leave for a cheaper cut. They left because they waited too long, or got rushed, or got a different cut every time.

So Linework was built the other way round. Real times on the menu. Prices you hear before the cut starts. A booking system that shows which chairs are open, and a walk-in policy that tells you the truth about the wait.

In 2019 the shop moved two doors down into the old print-shop space with tall windows, and grew to five chairs. The regulars came along.

What we hold to

  1. Value 01

    Clean lines

The blend, the neckline, the edge of a beard. Small details are the whole job, so we check them twice and in good light.

  2. Value 02

    Honest chair time

Every service has a real time on the menu. We book to it, run to it, and tell you up front if your cut needs longer.

  3. Value 03

    Every head welcome

Straight, curly, coily, thinning, first haircut or forty years of the same cut. If it grows, we cut it.

  4. Value 04

    Regulars over upsells

We'd rather see you every three weeks than sell you a jar of pomade. Product is offered once, never pushed.
