Orders and shipping
Is shipping really free?
Yes. Standard shipping is complimentary on every order to Canada and the US, and it is always insured and signature-tracked. Express delivery in 1 to 2 business days is $25.
When will my order ship?
Pieces in stock leave the atelier in 1 to 2 business days. Made-to-order pieces, including any special size or metal, ship in 5 to 7 business days. You get a tracking link the moment it leaves.
Do you ship outside Canada and the US?
Not yet. If you live somewhere else, write to the concierge and we will see what we can arrange for you.
Can I change my order after I place it?
Yes, until the piece is cast or shipped. Write to the concierge with your order number as soon as you can, and we will update the size, metal or address.
Returns and exchanges
What is your return policy?
You have 60 days from delivery to return any unworn piece in its original packaging for a full refund. Return shipping is free and insured.
Can I exchange a ring for a different size?
Yes. Every ring includes one complimentary resize or size exchange in its first year. Wide bands like the Aurea signet are the most common swap.
Is anything final sale?
Engraved pieces and full custom commissions cannot be returned, because they are made for one person. We confirm every detail in writing before we start.
Sizing and fit
How do I find my ring size?
Our size guide shows three ways to measure at home. The most accurate is a free ring sizer, which we post to you in a plain envelope on request.
I'm buying a surprise. What size should I choose?
Borrow a ring they wear on the right finger and measure it, or choose your best guess. The free first-year resize means a wrong guess costs you nothing.
Which necklace length should I pick?
18 inches is the classic pendant length and rests on the collarbone. 16 inches sits higher, and 20 inches is best for layering. The size guide shows all three.
Materials and sourcing
Is your gold recycled?
Yes. All of our gold and silver is certified recycled and refined in Canada. We do not use newly mined metal.
What is gold vermeil?
Vermeil is a thick layer of 18k gold (2.5 microns) over solid sterling silver. It lasts much longer than ordinary plating, and we re-plate each vermeil piece once for free.
Are your stones treated?
We disclose every treatment in writing. Our emeralds are lightly oiled, which is standard for emeralds. Our opals are doublets, a thin slice of opal backed for strength. Diamonds are untreated.
Can I shower in my jewelry?
Solid gold, yes. Vermeil, silver, pearls and opals should come off first, because water, soap and chlorine wear them faster.
Care and repairs
What does lifetime care include?
Cleaning, prong checks, re-polishing, clasp repairs and one re-plating for vermeil, for the life of the piece. It stays free no matter who owns the piece.
Do you repair jewelry from other jewelers?
Yes, by appointment. Cleaning and an inspection are free, and we give you a written quote before any repair begins.
How do I send a piece in for care?
Ask the concierge for an insured mail-in kit. It comes with a prepaid label and a padded case, and we email you when your piece arrives and when it ships back.
Gifting and appointments
Can I add a gift message?
Yes. Choose signature gift wrap at checkout and write up to 240 characters. We copy your message by hand onto a card. Prices are never included in the box.
Can they exchange a gift?
Yes. The person you gave it to can exchange it within 60 days of delivery. They only need the order number on the gift card.
How do private appointments work?
You get 45 minutes with the case to yourself, at the atelier or by video. Book online in about a minute and the concierge confirms within one business day.
Do you make custom pieces?
Yes. A commission starts with a conversation, then drawings and a wax model you can try on. Most finished pieces are ready in 6 to 8 weeks.
Still wondering?
Ask the people who make it
