Case results

Example matters, including the ones that went against us.

Federal cases rarely end with a single headline number, and no two are alike. These examples show the kind of work we do and how matters can end, good and bad.

Every example is an illustration. Details are changed, and there are no names, courts or case numbers. Past results do not predict or guarantee the outcome of any other matter.

How to read the labels

Favorable · 2 of 8
The matter ended the way the client hoped.
Mixed result · 1 of 8
Part of what we sought, not all of it.
Modest result · 3 of 8
A fair, limited outcome, often after a hard start.
Not the result we sought · 2 of 8
We lost the point that mattered most.

Why we show losses

Because you deserve the honest version before you hire anyone.

Federal prosecutors win most of the cases they bring. A firm that only shows wins is telling you something less than the truth. What a good defense changes is often the scope of the case, the charge, the loss figure, the sentence, or whether a case is brought at all.

On a first call we will tell you what we think is realistic, including the parts you will not want to hear.

Confidential consultation

Talk to a lawyer before you talk to anyone else.

A short, confidential call is often enough to learn where you stand and what not to do this week. We will tell you plainly whether we can help.

Please do not send case details through any website form or by email. We cover them by phone or in person, under privilege.

Consultation line: 7 days, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. If a search or an arrest is happening now, call at any hour.
