Straight answers to the usual questions
The questions admissions advisors hear every week, answered in plain words. Can't find yours? Ask the right desk directly, and a person will reply within two business days.
Applying
How many programs can I apply to?
Up to three on one application, ranked in order of preference, for one fee ($70 in this example). If you're not offered your first choice, we automatically consider your second and third.
When should I apply?
Applications for Fall 2027 open October 1, 2026. Apply by December 1 for the first offer round and an automatic entrance-scholarship review. February 1 is the documents deadline for equal consideration.
Does meeting the minimum average mean I'm in?
No. Minimum averages are the starting line, not a promise. Competitive programs like Nursing admit above the minimum, and Nursing and UX Design also weigh essays or a portfolio. We never guarantee admission.
I've been out of school for years. Can I still apply?
Yes. If you're 21 or older and have been out of full-time school for two years, a résumé and a one-page letter of intent replace the high-school average. Book a call with an admissions advisor first, and they'll map your path with you.
Tuition, cost & aid
What does a year at Caldwell actually cost?
In this example, tuition runs $8,900 to $10,200 a year for domestic students depending on the program, plus about $1,650 in mandatory fees. Add housing, food, books, and personal costs for the full cost of attendance. Our tuition page walks through a complete first-year example.
Do I need to apply separately for scholarships?
Not for entrance scholarships. Your admission average is your application, and awards of $1,500 to $5,000 a year are assessed automatically. Named awards and need-based bursaries use one short form in your applicant portal.
Can I pay tuition in installments?
Yes. Every student can split each term's tuition into four interest-free installments. There's no application and no fee.
Programs & credit
Is Caldwell accredited?
Caldwell holds institutional accreditation, and programs that lead to a licensed profession are also reviewed by that profession's approval bodies. On a real site, this answer would name each body and link to its listing. This sample site keeps it general.
Will my college diploma transfer?
Usually, at least in part. Most diploma holders receive 1 to 2 years of credit, assessed course by course and included with your offer. Send your transcript early so the Registrar can give you a clear answer.
What is co-op, and is it required?
Co-op means you alternate study terms with paid, full-time work terms of about four months. It's standard in Software Engineering and optional in most other programs. Students pay a co-op fee instead of tuition during work terms.
Can I study part time or in the evening?
In some programs, yes. Business Administration and Data Science run evening sections in upper years, and Health Informatics offers hybrid delivery. Nursing and UX Design are full-time and on campus by design.
Campus life
Is residence guaranteed for first-year students?
Yes, for first-year students who pay their admission deposit by May 1 and apply for housing by the June deadline. Upper-year students choose from suites and apartment-style housing.
Can I visit before I apply?
Please do. Student-led tours run every Friday at 10 a.m., and the Fall Open House is Saturday, November 14, 2026. Can't travel? The virtual tour covers the same seven stops.
After graduation
Do you guarantee a job after graduation?
No, and be wary of any school that does. We publish what our last graduating class reported, response rates included, so you can judge the numbers for yourself. Co-op, clinical hours, and studio work give you real experience to show employers.
Where do the outcome numbers come from?
From a survey of each graduating class six months after convocation. Our outcomes page explains who was asked, how many answered, and what each figure means. On this sample site, every figure is an illustrative example.
Dates, fees, and figures in these answers are examples on a sample site.
