Claims help

The worst day is why we exist

Here's the honest structure of a claim: the carrier decides and pays — no agent controls that, and anyone implying otherwise is selling. What we control is everything around it: whether filing is even wise, how well the claim is documented, and how hard someone pushes when the first estimate comes in light. That someone is Tom, and he's on your side of the table.

The claims-help promise

Four things we promise. One we can't.

01

Call us before you file

Not every ding should become a claim. If the damage is close to your deductible, filing can cost more over the next five years than it pays today. We'll do that math with you, on your side of the table, before anything goes on your record.

02

We file with you, not at you

When filing is the right call, we get on the phone with you and the carrier together, or file on your behalf — your choice. You'll never be handed an 800 number and wished luck.

03

We translate adjuster

Recoverable depreciation, ACV vs RCV, proximate cause — claims language is designed by lawyers. We turn every letter you receive into plain English within one business day.

04

We push back when it's light

If an estimate misses damage or applies the wrong coverage, we challenge it with the adjuster directly and escalate inside the carrier when needed. We can't decide outcomes — no agent can — but you will not negotiate alone.

And the one we can't make

We can't promise outcomes. Coverage decisions belong to the carrier under the policy's actual words — our leverage is preparation, documentation, persistence, and knowing those words better than most. It's real leverage. It's not a magic wand, and we won't pretend it is.

If something just happened

What to do, in order

  1. Make it safe, then make a record

People first, property second. Then photograph everything before you move or fix anything — wide shots and close-ups. Keep receipts for tarps, water extraction, hotel nights; emergency mitigation is covered and expected.

  2. Call us (or the 24/7 line after hours)

Weekdays, call the office and Tom picks it up from there. Nights and weekends, every carrier runs a 24/7 claims line — the numbers are below and on your policy documents. Call us the next morning and we'll take over the follow-up.

  3. Meet the adjuster prepared

We'll tell you what the adjuster will look for, what your policy actually covers, and what to point out. If a contractor's estimate differs from the carrier's, send us both — that gap is where advocacy matters.

  4. Settle, repair, and review

Once the claim settles, we sanity-check the payment against your coverage, then run a renewal review: some claims raise rates, some don't, and sometimes moving carriers after the dust settles is the right play. We'll tell you which.

One number to remember: (555) 016-4420. Weekdays that's us; after hours the carrier lines below answer, and we pick the thread back up in the morning.

Next step

The best claim is the one your coverage was built for.

Most claim heartbreak is a coverage decision made years earlier. The checkup catches those decisions while they're still cheap to fix.
