Three things we always do

1 Price first

You see the fee before we start.

If your return needs more than you booked, we stop and ask before the price changes.

2 Your refund is yours

We never take our fee from it.

You pay when you sign. No refund loans, no refund transfers, no add-on bank fees. Why not?

3 Accuracy promise

Our mistake, our bill.

If we make a mistake on your return that leads to an IRS or Wisconsin penalty or interest, we pay that penalty and interest and fix the return for free. The tax itself was always yours to pay, so that part isn't covered.

How a return gets done

  1. 1

    Book or walk in

Pick a time online, call, or walk in at Bay View on a weekday in season. Tell us the return type so we set aside the right amount of time.

  2. 2

Bring your papers, or upload them

Use the checklist. Missing a form? Come anyway. Most gaps can be filled from your IRS transcript or a quick call to your employer.

  3. 3

    Sit with a preparer

About an hour for most returns. We ask questions, you ask questions, and you see the numbers on the screen as we go. The fee is confirmed before we start.

  4. 4

    Review and sign

We walk through the finished return line by line. You sign the e-file authorization (Form 8879) only when it all makes sense.

  5. 5

    E-file and track

We e-file federal and Wisconsin and text you when each one is accepted. Track your refund on the IRS Where's My Refund? tool and the Wisconsin refund status page.

Real returns, real reviews

  • Family return

“The price was on the wall and it was the price I paid. Mai explained the child tax credit part twice without making me feel slow. In and out in about an hour.”

    Andrea P. · Bay View

  • Self-employed

“I drive for two apps and had no idea what I could deduct. Luis went through my mileage with me and set up my quarterly payments. First April in years with no surprise.”

    Marcus T. · Riverwest

  • Retirement income

“My mother does not read much English. Mai explained everything to her in Hmong, slowly. We will come back every year.”

Pa Nhia X. · West Allis

  • IRS letter

“Got a CP2000 for a 1099 I forgot. Teresa read it with me for free, wrote the reply, and it was closed in a couple of months. Took one star off because I had to wait on a Saturday.”

    Greg S. · Bay View

  • Prior years

“I hadn't filed in three years after my divorce. Nobody judged me. They pulled my transcripts, did all three years and set up a payment plan I can actually afford.”

    Rosa M. · Riverwest

  • Itemized return

“Good, careful work. They told us itemizing wasn't worth it this year, which saved us the higher fee. Parking out front was tight.”

    Tom & Kate L. · Bay View

  • Small business

“Dale knows his stuff, but my S corp return took longer than I wanted because my books were behind. Fair price, though they did charge for cleanup.”

    Darnell W. · Bay View

The people at the desk

Every preparer holds a PTIN and signs the returns they prepare. Our owner is an Enrolled Agent. Most clients keep the same preparer year after year.

Key dates

The tax year on one page

The usual federal calendar. Wisconsin individual returns follow the same April date. If a date lands on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day.

General information, not tax advice. Your situation decides what applies to you; a preparer will go over it with you.

  1. January 31 Employers send W-2s; most 1099-NEC forms go out too.
  2. Late January The IRS starts accepting returns; the exact day is announced each year.
  3. Mid-February By law, refunds that include the EITC or the additional child tax credit can't go out before this point.
  4. March 15 S corporation and partnership returns are due (calendar-year businesses).
  5. April 15 Individual federal and Wisconsin returns are due, and so is the first estimated payment. An extension gives more time to file, not to pay.
  6. June 15 Second estimated tax payment.

Common questions

Fees, refunds, walk-ins and what to bring. The full list covers documents, security, credentials and deadlines.

When do I pay?

When you sign. We take card, cash or check. We never take our fee out of your refund.

How fast will I get my refund?

The IRS says most e-filed returns with direct deposit are refunded in under three weeks, though some take longer. Refunds that include the EITC or the additional child tax credit are held until at least mid-February by law. We can't speed up the IRS, but a correct return and the right bank details help.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes, at Bay View on weekdays during filing season. Booked clients go first, so a walk-in may wait. Riverwest is by appointment, and West Allis is a drop-off desk.

I'm missing a form. Should I wait?

Book anyway. Many missing forms can be found on your IRS transcript. We won't file until we have everything the return needs.

Do you offer refund advances?

No. We don't sell refund loans or refund transfers. Our refund advance page explains what they are and the free way to get your refund quickly.

Let's get your return done.

Book a time at any of our three offices or on video. The fee is set before we start, and nothing comes out of your refund.
