Questions and answers

Straight answers, before you ask.

The questions we hear at almost every consult, answered plainly. If yours isn't here, call or text and Ines will find out.

Consults

Is the smile consult really free?

Yes. The first consult is free and takes about 45 minutes in studio, or 20 minutes by video. If you want a full design and trial smile after that, the design visit is $350, credited to treatment if you go ahead.

What happens at the consult?

We ask what you'd like to change and what you'd like to keep, check your teeth and gums, and take a few photos. You leave with honest options and price ranges. Nobody asks you to commit that day.

Can I start with a video consult?

Yes. Video consults run Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Send a few smile photos first and we can talk options and ranges. A firm plan needs an in-studio visit.

Do I need to be a patient here already?

No. Many people keep their regular dentist for cleanings and see us only for cosmetic work. We share notes with your dentist if you'd like.

Veneers, bonding and whitening

Will my veneers look fake?

They shouldn't, and the trial smile is how we make sure. You see the shape and length in your own mouth first. We usually aim for natural shades and slightly varied edges, never one flat white.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers often last 10 to 15 years, and many go longer with care. Bonding lasts 4 to 8 years on average. Whitening fades over 6 months to 3 years. None of these are forever, and we plan for that.

Are veneers reversible?

No. Porcelain veneers usually need some enamel reshaped, and that is permanent. Bonding is mostly reversible. Whitening fades on its own.

Should I whiten before veneers or bonding?

Usually yes. Porcelain and resin don't whiten, so we lighten your natural teeth first and match the new work to that shade.

Does whitening damage teeth?

Supervised whitening at the right strength is considered safe for enamel. Temporary sensitivity is common. We check your teeth and gums first.

Cost, insurance and financing

How much does a smile makeover cost?

From about $6,000 for whitening plus bonding, to $40,000 or more for veneers or crowns on both arches. Most of the plans we design land between $10,500 and $19,500. Your written plan gives the real number.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?

Purely cosmetic work, like whitening and most veneers, usually is not covered. Crowns and some bonding that repair a broken tooth often are, in part. We send a predetermination so you know before you start.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Our stage plan splits a treatment plan into two or three payments tied to visits, with no interest. Monthly financing is also available through a patient-financing lender, subject to approval.

Why do you publish price ranges?

Because you're comparing practices, and you should be able to. Ranges are honest. Your exact number depends on your teeth, which is what the consult is for.

Results and expectations

Do you guarantee results?

No dentist can honestly guarantee how a smile will look or how long it will last. What we do promise: a trial smile before anything permanent, prices in writing, and that we'll tell you when a treatment isn't right for you.

Can I see real before-and-after photos?

Yes, at your consult. Our gallery shows real patients who agreed to share their photos, taken in the same light and from the same angles, without retouching. This demo website uses illustrations instead.

I have an event coming up. Is there time?

Whitening needs about 2 to 3 weeks. Bonding can often be done within a week or two. Veneers need 3 to 5 weeks from the design visit. Tell us your date and we'll say what's realistic.

What if something chips or comes off?

Call us. Small bonding touch-ups in the first 3 months are on us, and we see veneer or crown problems quickly. Repairs later are priced like any other visit.
