Financing and insurance

Clear prices, flexible payments.

Cosmetic work is a real investment, and you should know the numbers before you fall in love with a plan. Three ways to pay, an estimator you can play with, and straight answers about insurance.

Ways to pay

Three options. Mix them if you like.

  1. 01

    Pay as you go

Pay for each visit on the day. Debit, credit or e-transfer. Best for whitening, bonding and single crowns.

    No paperwork

  2. 02

    Stage plan

Split any treatment plan into 2 or 3 payments tied to your visits: design, prep and fit. No interest, no credit check.

    Most chosen for veneers

  3. 03

    Monthly financing

12 to 60 months through a patient-financing lender. You apply in about 10 minutes; the lender decides and sets the rate.

    Subject to approval

Insurance

What's usually covered, and what isn't.

Dental plans pay for treatment that keeps teeth healthy and working, not for changing how they look. Before any treatment that might be covered, we send your insurer a predetermination, so you see your share in writing first.

Often covered in part

  • Crowns needed for a broken or root-treated tooth
  • Bonding that repairs a chipped or broken tooth
  • Replacing a failing old crown
  • Some adult orthodontics, often with a lifetime maximum

Usually not covered

  • Teeth whitening
  • Porcelain veneers chosen for appearance
  • Cosmetic bonding on healthy teeth
  • The smile design visit and trial smile

Health spending accounts follow your plan's rules and tax rules, and purely cosmetic treatment often isn't eligible. We give you itemized receipts and codes so you can ask.

Money questions

Asked plainly.

How much does a smile makeover cost?

From about $6,000 for whitening plus bonding, to $40,000 or more for veneers or crowns on both arches. Most of the plans we design land between $10,500 and $19,500. Your written plan gives the real number.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?

Purely cosmetic work, like whitening and most veneers, usually is not covered. Crowns and some bonding that repair a broken tooth often are, in part. We send a predetermination so you know before you start.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Our stage plan splits a treatment plan into two or three payments tied to visits, with no interest. Monthly financing is also available through a patient-financing lender, subject to approval.

Why do you publish price ranges?

Because you're comparing practices, and you should be able to. Ranges are honest. Your exact number depends on your teeth, which is what the consult is for.
