A good move is boring on purpose. Here's the whole route — from the first video walk-through to the last box checked off the inventory sheet — with the honest parts left in.

step 01 · survey
Every quote starts with eyes on your stuff. You point a phone at each room (or we drive over for 3+ bedroom homes) and we build the inventory line by line: 214 items, 96 boxes, one awkward armoire. That inventory is the contract's backbone — nothing priced sight-unseen.
step 02 · the written number
Local moves get an hourly estimate with a written ceiling. Long-distance moves get a binding not-to-exceed price based on the surveyed weight and your corridor. Both show the arithmetic — rate, hours or pounds, every add-on — on one page.
step 03 · reserve
We hold your date once you sign the estimate. Local moves owe nothing until moving day. Long-distance moves take a $250 reservation that comes off the final invoice — and comes back to you in full if you cancel a week or more before load day.
step 04 · pack week
Self-packers get materials at printed list prices and our room-by-room labeling guide. If you booked packing, a two-person team spends the day before wrapping the kitchen last so you can still make coffee in the morning.
step 05 · moving day
Floor runners down, door jambs padded, then the inventory sheet comes out and every numbered item is checked onto the truck. You sign the count, not a guess. Local crews drive straight to the new place; long-distance loads seal with a numbered bolt seal you photograph.
step 06 · delivery & settle
You check items off the same sheet as they come in the door. Beds get rebuilt, boxes land in the rooms their labels name, and the invoice matches the written estimate or comes in under it. Anything we wrapped, we unwrap and haul the debris.
moving day · a real 2-bedroom, in town
Pulled from a typical Tuesday job ledger. Bigger homes stretch the middle; the shape never changes.

Crew chief walk-through — you flag the fragile, the sold, and the do-not-touch

Protection goes in: floor runners, banister wrap, door-jamb guards

Loading starts — furniture blanket-wrapped, boxes checked against the inventory
12:15 pm
Truck loaded, count signed. Crew breaks (off the clock), drives to the new place
1:00 pm
Unload begins — items checked back off the sheet, rooms called by their box labels
3:30 pm
Beds rebuilt, appliances positioned, wrap and debris back on the truck
4:00 pm
Final walk-through with the crew chief, hours tallied, invoice signed at the door
The hours between load-out and load-in are the ones you pay for — which is why the checklist nags you to finish packing the night before.
