We hire fewer lawyers and give them bigger jobs. Associates take depositions in their first year, argue motions in their second, and examine trial witnesses when they have earned it — which is the point of coming here.

Our 1:1 partner-to-associate staffing means there is no third row. If you are on the case, you are on your feet — in depositions, at hearings, and at counsel table.

One office, one standard

Every lawyer sits in New York, and every brief that leaves the building meets the same bar regardless of whose name is on it. We edit each other without ceremony.

Credit follows work

The associate who wrote the winning argument argues it when the court allows. Origination politics are a big-firm disease we chose not to import.

Pro bono counts, fully

Pro bono hours are billable-equivalent without a cap, and our associates have first-chaired federal civil-rights trials on the firm's time.

Litigation Associate

We are looking for a litigator who wants trial work, not proximity to it. Federal clerkship strongly preferred; meaningful deposition or courtroom experience valued over volume of doc review supervised.

What we look for

2–5 years of litigation experience at a peer firm or U.S. Attorney's/DA's office
Federal clerkship strongly preferred
Writing sample that you actually wrote
New York bar admission or eligibility for admission on motion

Restructuring & Special Situations · Class of 2022–2024

Restructuring Associate

Join a creditor-side practice where the associates build the valuation models the cases are tried on. Comfort with a waterfall spreadsheet is as important to us as comfort with the Code.

What we look for

1–4 years in restructuring, bankruptcy litigation, or a bankruptcy clerkship
Facility with valuation and recovery modeling
Strong research and brief-writing record
New York bar admission or eligibility
