What evidence usually matters
A general guide by kind of condition. Your own claim depends on your records, and we look at all of your conditions together.
-
Back, joints and muscles
Imaging like MRIs and X-rays, exam findings, how long you can sit, stand and walk, and whether a doctor says you need a cane or walker.
-
Heart and circulation
Test results such as echocardiograms and stress tests, hospital stays, and how activity affects your symptoms.
-
Breathing and lungs
Breathing test results, oxygen use, flare-ups that needed urgent care, and how often they happen.
-
Brain and nerves
Neurologist records, seizure or headache logs, and how symptoms affect balance, hand use, memory and focus.
-
Mental health
Steady treatment, therapy notes, and how symptoms affect focus, pace, getting along with others and handling stress.
-
Cancer
Pathology and imaging reports, the stage and spread, treatment side effects, and whether the cancer has come back.
-
Immune system and blood
Lab results, flare-up records, and how fatigue, pain and infections affect a normal work week.
-
Kidneys, liver and digestion
Lab trends, hospital stays, procedures such as dialysis, and weight loss over time.
-
Diabetes, senses and other conditions
How the condition and its complications limit work, often in combination with other conditions.
