About the firm
A small Kansas City firm that represents injured workers, and only injured workers, in Missouri and Kansas.
Meet the attorneysWe switched sides on purpose
Neil Brannock spent seven years defending insurance companies in workers' comp cases. He watched good claims fall apart for simple reasons: a late report, a vague doctor's note, a worker who didn't know what to ask. In 2011 he opened this firm to be on the other side of the table. Teresa Soto, whose father fought for a year to get care for a shoulder injury from a processing line, joined two years later.
How we work
Four habits we hold ourselves to. They are about how we treat you, because nobody can honestly promise how a case ends.
-
Plain answers, early
After the first call you know which deadlines apply, what benefits you may be owed and whether we think we can help. If we can't, we say so.
-
No promises we can't keep
Nobody can promise how a judge or an insurer will decide. We promise steady work, honest odds and a call back within one business day.
-
You keep your job in view
Most of our clients want to go back to work. We plan around light duty, restrictions and your next paycheck, not only around a settlement.
-
Spanish is not an add-on
Two of our team grew up speaking Spanish at home. You can do every step, from intake to the hearing, in the language you think in.
The short history
-
2011
Neil Brannock leaves insurance defense work and opens a two-room office on Grand Boulevard to represent injured workers only.
-
2013
Teresa Soto joins as a partner and builds Spanish-language intake that runs every step, not just the first call.
-
2017
Lorna Pike, an orthopedic nurse, joins to read medical files. Records requests start going out in the first week, not the first month.
-
2020
Ruth Ostrowski comes on as of counsel and takes the long-running claims: occupational illness, hearing loss and spine injuries.
-
Today
Three lawyers and four staff, licensed in Missouri and Kansas, still answering every new call within one business day.
