Founding partner

Teresa Soto

Denied claims, hearings, repetitive stress injuries

Teresa grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, in a family of meatpacking and warehouse workers. Her father hurt his shoulder on a processing line and spent a year fighting for care, with no one explaining the forms in Spanish. She went to law school to be that person.

She has handled workers' comp claims for injured workers since 2009 and spends most of her week preparing clients for hearings. She does every meeting, from intake to the hearing, in English or Spanish.

Founding partner

Neil Brannock

Construction injuries, settlements, third-party claims

Neil spent seven years defending insurance companies in workers' comp cases before he switched sides in 2011. He knows how adjusters value a claim, which reports they rely on and when an offer is their last one.

Today he represents only injured workers. He leads the firm's construction and third-party work and reviews every settlement before a client signs.

Of counsel

Ruth Ostrowski

Occupational illness, back and neck injuries, long-running claims

Ruth has practiced workers' comp law for close to thirty years, much of it for union members in rail yards, foundries and grain elevators. She takes the slow, record-heavy claims: occupational illness, hearing loss and spine injuries that run for years.

She is known around the office for one rule: tell the client the hard part first.
