Sympathy and funeral flowers

When someone has died, choosing flowers can feel like one more hard thing. We'll help you choose, write the card if you'd like, and deliver with care.

We'll take care of it

You don't need to know the right words or the right flowers. Tell us who they are for and what you'd like to say, and we'll take it from there.

We deliver to funeral homes, churches and family homes across Greater Portland. For a service, order by 3 p.m. the day before and we'll have your flowers there before it begins. We call the funeral home ourselves to confirm the time and place.

What people usually send

If the notice says "in lieu of flowers", the family has asked for something else. We'll gently say so, and a plant for the home a few weeks later is often welcome instead.

How we take care of it

  1. 01

    Tell us who it's for

The name, the funeral home or the family's address, and the service time if you know it.

  2. 02

    Choose, or let us choose

Pick a piece, or give us a budget and a feeling. Soft, bright, simple, white.

  3. 03

    We help with the card

Short and sincere is enough. There are gentle examples below if you're stuck.

  4. 04

We confirm with the funeral home

Time, room and name, so the flowers are where the family will see them.

If you're not sure what to write

Short and sincere is enough. You're welcome to use any of these, change them, or ask us to help you write something of your own.

  • "Thinking of you all, with love."

  • "We're so sorry. Remembering Ellen with you."

  • "With deepest sympathy, from all of us at the clinic."

  • "No words, just love. Here whenever you need us."

Questions about sympathy

Should flowers go to the service or the home?

Close family and friends often send to the service. Many others send to the home a few days later, when the house is quieter. Both are kind.

What if I don't know the funeral home?

Give us the person's name and town. We'll check the published notices and call you before we send anything.
