Paint correction

Machine polishing that removes swirls, haze, and light scratches. We measure first, and we show you the numbers after.

How we do it

Clear coat is thin, thinner than a sheet of printer paper on most cars. Every pass of a polisher removes a little of it, so guessing is not good enough.

Before we start, we read paint depth on every panel and take gloss readings. Then we pick the gentlest pad and polish that gets the job done. A one-step correction removes most light swirls. A two-step correction cuts deeper defects first, then refines. The before and after readings go on your job card.

Up from 71 GU before. Example 60-degree reading from a black sedan.

What is included

  • Paint depth reading on every panel
  • Gloss readings before and after, same spots
  • Wash plus iron and clay decontamination
  • Test spot to choose the gentlest method
  • Polishing under LED inspection lights
  • Sealant, or coating-ready prep if you are coating

Book this when

  • You see spiderweb swirls when the sun hits the paint
  • The paint looks hazy even right after a wash
  • Hard-water spots stay after washing
  • You are planning a ceramic coating

Straight talk

If a scratch catches your fingernail, it is usually through the clear coat. Polishing can make it much less visible, but it cannot erase it. We show you under the light before we start.

Questions we hear

Will it remove every scratch?

Most swirls and light scratches, yes. Deep scratches, rock chips, and anything through the clear coat need paint or touch-up work, and we will tell you which is which.

How much clear coat do you remove?

Very little. A one-step correction typically takes off a few microns. We re-check thin panels and stop well before it gets risky.
