A remarkably original fastback saloon — the thinking enthusiast's pre-war car.
$46,500 USD
Grade IV — Preserved original
Riley's Kestrel bodywork gave the 12/4 chassis a rakish fastback profile years ahead of its time, and this example survives in genuinely original order: original interior woodwork, original upholstery now carefully conserved, and an engine believed original to the car.
The twin-camshaft four (a hemi-head design with short pushrods, decades before that layout became fashionable) revs freely, and the pre-selector gearbox makes town driving unexpectedly relaxed. A preservation-class car we would encourage the next owner to conserve rather than restore.
Graded Grade IV — Preserved original under the Ferrobello grading standard. Substantially as it left the factory. Original paint or a single documented repaint, original interior, unrestored driveline. Cars in this grade are conserved, never restored.
