About this piece
Why it's built this way
The Fjeld sits 30 cm off the floor and keeps everything else out of the way: no footboard, a plain plank headboard, and joinery you only notice when you look for it. In a small room it makes the ceiling feel higher.
Solid white-oak rails; the slats are flexible birch ply, which adds a little give under any mattress.
