The first Maren pieces were drawn for a one-room cabin where every centimetre had a job. We still draw for real rooms: a radiator under the only free wall, books that need a proper shelf, a bed that shares the wall with a desk.
How it started

Solid wood, joined to last
White oak, walnut and ash, kiln-dried and joined at the corners. Every top is finished with a hardwax oil you can sand back and re-oil at home, so a scratch is an afternoon's job.

Fit up a 1920s staircase
We measured our stair turn three times because the product page made it easy. The chaise arrives as its own module, so the crew carried it up in two pieces and bolted it together in the living room. Six months in, the oat boucle still looks new, and the covers come off for cleaning.

The headboard really is the nightstand
I bought it for the compartments and I use them every night: glasses, a book, and the charger cable runs out the back. Assembly took the two of us about an hour, a little longer than the 45 minutes listed, but nothing was hard.

Makes a small room feel bigger
Our bedroom is under three metres wide. With no footboard and a low platform, the room looks open for the first time. The birch slats have a little give, which our older mattress needed.

Frames are cut and joined in one small workshop, covers are cut and sewn in another, and the cloth comes from weavers we buy from directly. It makes the furniture a little slower to build and much easier to stand behind.
