Most air pads make you choose between warmth, weight and the crinkle of a chip bag. The Contour's laminated insulation layer is bonded, not loose, which is why it hits R-4.2 at 480 grams without the crackle.

Seven centimetres of loft floats side-sleeper hips off the ground, and the dual-valve design inflates in about ten breaths and dumps flat in seconds. Comes with a field repair kit that lives in the stuff sack, where you'll actually have it.

Field notes (48)

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars.

“First pad I've owned that's genuinely silent. Slept on frozen ground at Magog and stayed warm.”

Theo M. · Assiniboine Core Camp, BC

  • Rated 4 out of 5 stars.

“Ten breaths to inflate is accurate. Docked a star because the stuff sack is snug — a normal human cannot re-roll it perfectly the first three tries.”

Renée L. · Cape Chignecto, NS
