The Traverse 55 exists because most 55-litre packs are either overbuilt 2.5-kilogram furniture or frameless sacks that collapse past 15 kilos. This one runs a tensioned wire perimeter frame with a moulded back panel: 20-kilogram loads ride on your hips, where they belong, at a pack weight of 1.62 kg.

The torso length adjusts across ten centimetres with a ladder-lock that will not creep. Fabric is 210-denier high-tenacity nylon — the same cloth we use on repair patches, because we repair these for life and would rather not see you often. Rain cover included, stashed in the lid.

Built for: Backpacking, Winter & shoulder

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars.

“Seven days of food plus ladder mud and it never once felt like the pack was the problem. Hipbelt pockets fit a phone AND a bar. Revolutionary, apparently.”

Hannah W. · West Coast Trail, BC

  • Rated 4 out of 5 stars.

“Took 30 seconds to dial the torso and it stayed put. Wish the side pockets were a touch deeper for 1L bottles at full compression.”

Gord P. · Skyline Trail, Jasper

  • Rated 5 out of 5 stars.

“18 kg with winter kit and my shoulders forgot about it by kilometre two. The load transfer claim is not marketing.”
