About the pre-K room

Pre-K is the year before kindergarten, and our goal is a child who walks into school ready and excited. We work on letters and sounds, counting and simple patterns, writing their name, and following two-step directions. Just as important, we practise the school skills nobody teaches on a worksheet: opening a lunch box, asking for help, waiting a turn and handling a small setback. In spring we meet with you about kindergarten and share what we have seen.

Questions about pre-K

Ask us anything on a tour, or call Marco Ruiz at (608) 555-0143.

Will my child be ready for kindergarten?

That is the whole goal of the year. We share a readiness checklist in fall and spring, so there are no surprises.

Is there homework?

No. We may send home a book or a simple game to play together, but never worksheets.

What if my child has a late birthday?

Talk to us. Some children do a second year of pre-K, and we will give you an honest view, not a sales pitch.
