After a crash or close call
The hands remember how to drive; the nervous system disagrees. Graded, patient exposure in a dual-brake car is the fastest honest route back.
Years without a wheel
Transit cities, long illnesses, license-in-a-drawer decades. Two hours usually separates 'I used to drive' from 'I drive.'
The family conversation
When adult kids start hinting. The mature check-in gives everyone a neutral, written picture — from a coach, not a courtroom.
The insurance letter
Many insurers discount for a defensive-driving certificate. Our Saturday classroom qualifies with many carriers — call your agent before booking it for that reason.
What the mature check-in is not: we don't report to the BMV, we don't confiscate anything, and we don't ambush anyone. You get 90 minutes on your own routes and a written note you can share — or not. Plenty of check-ins end with "your driving is fine."

Defensive driving (group)

Most refresher students book a single hour expecting to need five. Book one, get an honest read, and go from there — we've never padded a plan and we're not starting with yours.
