Getting started
What age can my child start?
Age 5. Sparks classes (ages 5 to 7) are 60 minutes, with six children at most and two adults in the room.
Does my child need any experience?
No. Most students start with none. At the free trial class we chat with your child and suggest a level. We never place by age alone.
What happens at a free trial class?
Your child joins a real class for the full time. You can stay in the lobby or come back for the last 10 minutes, when kids show what they made. There is no card, no contract and no follow-up pressure.
Can my child switch programs?
Yes, at any point in the first three weeks of a term, at no cost. After that, switches happen at the start of the next term.
Safety and staff
Are your staff background checked?
Yes. Every adult who works with students has a Vulnerable Sector Check before their first class, renewed every two years, plus two reference checks. Everyone also holds Standard First Aid with CPR.
Who can pick up my child?
Only adults on your pickup list, and we ask for photo ID the first time we meet them. Ages 12 and up can sign themselves out with your written permission.
Do you post photos of the kids?
Not their faces or names. Project photos show hands and builds. Faces appear only if you opt in, in writing, and you can change that any time.
Will my child be chatting with strangers online?
No. We set up student accounts with no surname and with chat and friend requests turned off. Games and projects are tested with classmates only.
Classes
How big are classes?
Eight students at most. Sparks classes (ages 5 to 7) are capped at six with two adults.
How much screen time is there?
It depends on the program. Robotics and Sparks classes are mostly hands-on. Coding and game design are mostly laptop work, with an unplugged warm-up and a show-and-tell.
Do kids take their projects home?
Code projects come home as a private link you can open on any computer. Robot kits stay at the lab. Most camp weeks send a build home on Friday.
What if we miss a class?
Book one make-up class a month in any class at the same level, with 24 hours notice.
Tuition and refunds
How much does it cost?
Weekly classes are $149 to $199 a month depending on age and class length, or a little less when you pay for a whole term. Camps are $85 a PA day and $395 a week. Every price is on the tuition page.
Do you have a sibling discount?
Yes: 10% off for the second child and each child after that, on weekly classes and camps.
What is your refund policy?
Monthly plans stop with 30 days notice. Term plans get a full refund before the second class and a prorated refund until week 4. Camps refund in full up to 14 days before. The tuition page has every rule.
Do you offer financial help?
Yes. Our Open Seat fund keeps two reduced-fee seats in every class each term. Ask the director privately by email or phone.
Camps and teams
When does summer camp registration open?
Monday, February 1, 2027 at 9:00 a.m.
Do competition teams have tryouts?
No. A placement session helps us match kids to a team by age and experience. If a team is full, we keep a waitlist in sign-up order.
Do you promise contest wins, better grades or a future in tech?
No. We teach well, keep classes small and help kids finish projects they can explain. What happens after that is up to them, and that's how it should be.
when trial class booked
Try a real class first. Decide after.
The trial is a full class with kids at your child's level. No card, no contract. Stay for the last 10 minutes and see what they built.
