Coding Classes
From drag-and-drop blocks to typed Python and a first website, one level per term.
from $179 a month
About this class
Coding at Loopwork moves in clear levels. Younger students start with blocks in Scratch, where they learn loops, events and variables without fighting typos. Around age 11, most are ready to type real code in Python.
Every level has one big project. Your child plans it, builds it in small steps and shows it at the end-of-term showcase. You get a private link to run it at home.
What we use
- Scratch
- Python
- HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Simple command-line tools
What your child will make
-
01
A Scratch arcade game
With a score, three lives and a level that speeds up. Learns events, loops and variables.
-
02
A Python quiz app
Reads questions from a file and keeps score. Learns lists, functions and input.
-
03
A turtle-graphics art piece
Patterns drawn by nested loops. Learns how small changes in code change the whole picture.
-
04
A one-page website
For a club, a team or a hobby. Learns HTML structure, CSS and a little JavaScript.
6 levels
The levels, in order
Each level is about one term and ends with a project. Kids move up when the project shows they're ready, not on a birthday. Ages are a guide.

Coding questions
My child has never coded. Where do they start?
Ages 8 to 10 start in Blocks 1. Ages 11 and up usually start in Blocks 2 or Python 1, depending on a short chat at the free trial class. We never place a child by age alone.
Is this just video games with a coding label?
No. Students write the code for every project, and you can open it and read it. Games are a common project because kids care about them, but the class time is spent building, not playing.
Do kids need to type well?
Not for Blocks. For Python, we start slow and give typing warm-ups. Most students are typing comfortably by mid-term.
