Tuition & aid
Published tuition, plainly explained
The full price, what it includes, and how indexed tuition actually works — on one page, before you've given us so much as an email address. Families deserve the math up front.

Indexed tuition
Not a discount. Not a favour. The price, for you.
Marlowe uses indexed tuition rather than 'financial aid': every family pays a tuition indexed to their actual financial picture, assessed confidentially by an independent third-party service. It is not a discount, a scholarship, or a favour — it is the price, for you. About 28% of our families pay an indexed rate, from $4,000 to just under full tuition.

How it works
-
Step 1
You complete one confidential financial review with the independent service (income, assets, obligations, other children in tuition-paying schools). It takes most families about an hour.
-
Step 2
The service recommends a tuition range; our committee sets your figure inside it. Nobody on the teaching faculty is involved or informed.
-
Step 3
Your indexed tuition arrives in the same letter as the admission decision — you never have to accept a place before knowing the price.
-
Step 4
You reconfirm annually; the figure moves only when your circumstances do. A job loss mid-year is a phone call, not a withdrawal.
What families typically pay
| Household income | Typical indexed tuition |
|---|---|
| Under $70,000 | $4,000 – $8,000 |
| $70,000 – $120,000 | $8,000 – $15,000 |
| $120,000 – $190,000 | $15,000 – $23,000 |
| $190,000 – $280,000 | $23,000 – near full tuition |
| Above $280,000 | Full published tuition, typically |
Illustrative bands for a family with one child at Marlowe and typical assets — real figures depend on the full review, and families outside these patterns are assessed individually, not rejected by a table.
The honest limits
Two honest limits: our budget is finite, and in some years we cannot offer an indexed rate to every family who qualifies — waitlisted aid is real and we will tell you where you stand. And Marlowe offers no merit scholarships below Grade 9; the two Marlowe Scholars awards (50% of tuition, Grade 9 entry) are our only merit program, and they are genuinely competitive.
