Eight stops, gate to commons, in the order a real tour walks them. It's a decent substitute for a visit in exactly one way: it will tell you whether you want the real one.

The Chapel Green gate
Every Marlowe day starts here
The wrought-iron gate on Chapel Green Lane has opened for students since 1927. A teacher stands here every morning at 8:00 — the first of the day's several hundred hellos.

The green
Recess, Closing Circle, and 99 years of grass stains
The central green holds morning recess, spring exhibitions, and the whole-school Closing Circle in June. The two oaks predate the school; the goalposts do not.

Founders' Hall — Lower School
The original 1927 schoolhouse, twice extended
Junior kindergarten to Grade 5 live here: classroom libraries, a puppet theatre with a waiting list, and coat hooks at four heights. The reading nooks in the 1927 wing have window seats worth the tour on their own.

Room 14 — World Languages
Spanish and German, JK to Grade 12
Señor-slash-Herr Herrera's room switches language at the door. The flags on the chalk rail mark the week's partner-classroom letters from Bogotá and Bremen.

The ravine — Outdoor Classroom
Four acres of creek, woodland, and weather
Down the cedar steps behind Founders' Hall: the creek where Grade 2 samples water, the fire circle, and the trailhead where the Grade 8 Ridge Hike begins. Used weekly in all four seasons — mud is a school supply here.

Design & Fabrication Lab
The wall of documented failures
Laser cutter, printers, sewing machines, soldering benches — and the lab's famous wall where broken prototypes hang with tags explaining what went wrong. Grade 6 and up, bookable by any student with a plan.

Barton Hall theatre
Home of the Mainstage and Founder's Day
A 340-seat hall with a student-run booth. Two productions a year, the jazz band's annual Founder's Day set, and Thesis Night each May — the school's whole year, on one stage.

The Upper School commons
Seminar rooms, library armchairs, and the Thesis wall
Grades 9–12 work around one shared commons: seminar tables, the college-counselling office with its door usually open, and the wall listing every Senior Thesis title since 1974.

Stop 5 in particular is better with boots on. Tours run year-round, including summer.
