Dr. Amira Hassan

MD, FRCPC

  • Adolescent medicine
  • Mental-health first assessment
  • Menstrual health

"Teenagers are excellent historians the moment they trust the room."

Dr. Hassan built Sunside's adolescent program around a rule teens actually respond to: their visit is their visit. Parents are partners, but from about age twelve every appointment includes private time with the clinician, and confidentiality is explained out loud, every time.

She sees teens for the whole messy landscape — sleep, mood, sport, skin, school pressure — and is the practice's first stop for mental-health concerns before referral.
