Pediatrician · Westboro + Orléans

Dr. Claire Whitfield

MD, FRCPC

  • Newborn and infant care
  • Feeding medicine
  • Prematurity follow-up

"The first six weeks are hard for everyone. Nobody should be graded on them."

Dr. Whitfield leads Sunside's newborn program. She sees every new baby in the practice within the first week home and runs the feeding clinic alongside our nurse practitioners.

Families who arrive anxious tend to leave with two things: a plan written in plain language, and her standing instruction — when in doubt, call the nurse line and let us do the worrying.

Training

  • MD, University of Ottawa
  • Pediatrics residency, CHEO
  • Neonatal follow-up fellowship, Montreal Children's Hospital
