Wexley Corwin Injury & Wrongful Death Law

The people who will know your name

Four attorneys, a nurse case manager and a small staff. We stay small on purpose, so the person you meet first is the person who sees your case through.

Portrait of Ruth Wexley, a smiling woman with short grey hair and glasses, wearing a navy suit

Ruth Wexley

Founding partner · Practicing since 1998

  • Brain injury
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Trial work

Ruth spent her first ten years defending insurance companies. She left because she wanted to sit on the other side of the table, next to the family.

She tries cases herself and still makes the first visit to every new client with a brain or spinal cord injury.

“The family usually knows the truth of the injury before anyone else. My job is to make sure the court hears it.”

Daniel Corwin

Founding partner · Practicing since 2001

  • Burn injuries
  • Workplace and product cases
  • Amputation

Daniel handles cases where a product, a machine or a building caused the harm. He works closely with fire investigators and engineers.

Before law school he worked summers in a steel fabrication shop, which is where he first saw what an unguarded machine can do.

“Most of these injuries trace back to a safety step someone decided to skip. Finding that step is the case.”

Portrait of Helen Marsh, a smiling woman with blonde hair in a light grey blazer holding a tablet

Helen Marsh

Partner · Practicing since 2004

  • Wrongful death
  • Estates and survival actions
  • Medical cases

Helen leads our wrongful death work. She coordinates with probate attorneys so the estate step never holds up a family's claim.

Families say she is the person who explains things twice, kindly, without making them feel they should have understood the first time.

“Grief does not run on a court schedule. We carry the deadlines so families don't have to.”

Portrait of Samir Rao, a smiling man with glasses and a short beard, working on a laptop in a glass-walled office

Samir Rao

Associate attorney · Practicing since 2016

  • Amputation
  • Life care planning
  • Benefits and trusts coordination

Samir builds the long-term side of each case: the life care plan, the equipment schedules and the benefits questions that come with a settlement.

He is usually the attorney families speak with on our two-week check-in calls.

“A settlement has to work in year twenty, not just year one. That is what the planning is for.”
