A family law firm built around the child's week
Ninebark opened in 2014 in downtown Spokane to do one kind of law well: the cases that decide where children sleep, who pays for their lives, and who gets to be part of them.
Our story
Why a shrub?
Ninebark is a tough native shrub that grows across the Inland Northwest. Cut it back to the ground and it comes back the next spring, often fuller than before. Claire Hollis named the firm after it because families are like that. A hard year does not have to be the end of the story.
- What we want for every family
- Children who know their week, parents who know their rights, and grandparents who know where they stand.
- How we get there
- Clear plans, honest odds, published fees, and a strong preference for agreements that hold up over court fights that don't.
What we hold ourselves to
Six rules shape every case, every letter and every court filing we write.
-
The child's week comes first
Every plan starts with school, sleep, friends and the drive between homes. If a schedule looks good on paper but wears a child out, we change it.
-
Straight talk about the odds
We tell you what Washington law usually allows, where a judge has room to decide, and what we think is realistic. We never promise an outcome.
-
Calm before court
Most parenting cases settle. We work hard on agreements and go to court fully prepared when an agreement is not safe or fair.
-
Both sides are welcome
We help parents who receive support and parents who pay it, mothers and fathers, and grandparents. You get the same respect either way.
-
Fees you can see
Flat fees for defined work, written estimates for the rest, and a plain list of costs that come from outside the firm.
-
Respect for the other parent
Your child loves both of you. We keep court papers factual, not cruel, because kids often read them years later.
The people around your case
A small team on purpose. You will know who is working on your file, and you will get a call back from someone who has read it.
