Founding attorney

Claire Hollis

Admitted in Washington, 2011

  • Parenting plans
  • Relocation
  • Child support

Opened Ninebark in 2014 after years of watching good parents get lost in bad paperwork.

Claire spent her first three years at a general practice firm, where family cases were the work nobody wanted. She wanted it. She opened Ninebark in 2014 to do parenting cases with more care and fewer surprises.

She is trained in family mediation and spends much of her week helping parents reach agreements that hold up. When a case has to go to trial, she prepares it the same way: around the child's actual week.

Outside the office, she is a parent of two and a regular on the sidelines of a muddy soccer field.

Attorney

Theo Larkin

Admitted in Washington, 2017

  • Fathers' rights
  • Paternity
  • Enforcement

Grew up between two homes and knows what a good plan feels like from the back seat.

Theo joined Ninebark in 2019. Most of his clients are fathers, many of them unmarried, who need parentage set and a parenting plan on paper. He is known for fast callbacks and plain answers.

He grew up splitting weeks between his parents' homes. He says the plan that worked best for him was the boring one: clear, predictable and never argued about in front of him.

Theo also handles enforcement on both sides, including defending parents who have fallen behind on support for real reasons.

Of counsel

Walt Ingram

Admitted in Washington, 1994

  • Grandparents' rights
  • Guardianship of minors
  • Settlement conferences

Three decades of family law, and the patience grandparents need when the news is hard.

Walt has practiced family law in Spokane for more than thirty years. He joined Ninebark as of counsel in 2021 to focus on grandparents and other relatives raising children.

He writes most of the firm's standing reviews. Grandparents often tell us he was the first lawyer to explain the law to them kindly, even when the answer was no.

Walt also leads settlement conference preparation for the firm's contested cases.
