The Copper Comb Dog & cat grooming · Leslieville

Leslieville, Toronto · dogs & cats

A calm groom.
An honest bill.
A very good pet.

Every price on this website, worked out by size band and coat type — the same arithmetic our booking tool runs. Hand blow-drying only, cat appointments before the first dog arrives, and if a coat is too matted to save, we phone you before the clippers move.

How we do business

Prices, published

The full matrix — size band × coat type, per service — lives on this site. No "starting at," no surprise at the till.

Dried by hand

No cage dryers, ever. Slower for us, calmer for them — and it's why a groom here takes the time the tool says it takes.

Cats, before dogs

Cat appointments run 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. — dogs haven't arrived, the lobby is quiet, and Dana works one cat at a time.

For dogs

Four services. One price matrix.

Full groom

Bath, hand blow-dry, full haircut, nails, ears, sanitary trim.

from $85

Bath & tidy

Bath, blow-dry, full brush-out, face-feet-sanitary tidy, nails.

from $55

De-shed treatment

Bath, undercoat release, high-velocity dry, full comb-out, nails.

from $65

Nails only

Nail trim, any size, fifteen minutes. Add a grind for smooth edges.

from $20

"From" prices are the smallest, shortest-coated cell of each real matrix — your exact price shows in the booking tool before you pick a time. Cat services run $22–$155 on their own page.

The studio

Three groomers, one room,
no assembly line

We book by the clock, not by the crate. Your dog is worked on start to finish by one groomer, never parked wet in a kennel, and we text you twenty minutes before the bow goes on. Since 2019 on Queen East, next to the good bakery.

  • Certified, insured, and first-aid trained — all three of us
  • Fear-free handling: breaks when they're needed, force never
  • Report card at pick-up: coat notes, nail notes, next-visit advice

How it works

Price first. Then the appointment.

01

Build your groom

Species, size band, coat type, service. The tool shows the exact price and how long we'll need — for example, a medium curly full groom is $120 · 2 hr 20 min

02

Drop off, wander off

Leslieville has coffee, records and a bookshop within a block. We text when your pet is twenty minutes from done — no lobby limbo, no wet dog waiting in a cage.

03

Pick up a better pet

Report card, rebooking advice by coat (not by sales target), and the bill you already saw online. First visit? Here's exactly what to expect.

The shave-down sentence most groomers whisper

Severe matting sometimes means a shave-down — brushing a pelted coat out is painful, and we won't hurt a pet to save a hairstyle. When that's the honest call, we phone you before the clippers touch the coat, explain what we found, and the coat grows back within weeks. It's policy, in writing, on the policies page.

What clients say

From the reviews

“They called mid-groom because one ear was matted tighter than expected — walked us through the options and the extra fifteen dollars before doing anything.”
