Policies
The fine print, printed large
Six policies, written the way we'd want to read them. Every one exists to protect a pet, a person, or the price you were promised — never to sneak a fee past you.
Cancellations & no-shows
24 hours' notice moves or cancels any appointment free, no questions, no guilt. Life happens; the calendar can too.
Same-day cancellations are $25 — that slot was held for you and usually turned someone else away.
No-shows are billed at half the booked service. Two no-shows and we'll ask for a deposit on the next booking, said with love.
We text a reminder two days ahead precisely so nobody meets this policy by accident.
Vaccinations
Dogs and cats both need a current rabies vaccine, with proof — a photo of the vet record emailed ahead or paper at drop-off. We keep it on file after that.
Bordetella is recommended for dogs, especially social ones. Indoor-only cats still need rabies — it's an Ontario requirement, not our invention.
No current rabies vaccine means we reschedule rather than groom. It protects every pet in the room, including yours.
Puppies and kittens can start two weeks after their second vaccine round.
Matting & shave-downs
Light matting is part of the job: up to about fifteen minutes of dematting is included in any groom, free.
Beyond that, dematting is $1 per additional minute, capped at $15 — and only where it's genuinely humane to brush out.
Severe matting or pelting may mean a shave-down. Forcing a brush through a pelted coat hurts, and we won't hurt a pet to save a hairstyle.
We always call you first. Before the clippers touch the coat, you'll know what we found, what we recommend, and what it costs. The coat grows back within weeks; we'll set up a brushing routine so it doesn't happen twice.
Senior pets
Seniors are welcome and get the accommodations age deserves: low tables, slings for weak hips, heated pads, and breaks on their schedule.
Long grooms can be split across two shorter visits when standing is the hard part — priced as one groom, not two.
For pets fourteen and up we ask for a brief note from your vet that grooming is okay. It's one email and it keeps everyone honest.
If we find anything under the coat a vet should see — lumps, skin trouble, sore spots — it goes on the report card and, with your OK, straight to your clinic.
Stress, safety & the hard stop
We never sedate, and we don't groom pets who arrive sedated — reactions on a grooming table are unpredictable and unfair to the pet.
If a pet is too stressed to continue safely, we stop. You pay only for what was done, and we'll suggest a slower plan: shorter sessions, quieter hours, or a vet-supervised groom.
Muzzles are a last resort, used briefly and only for safety — never for convenience, never for a whole groom.
A bitten groomer can't groom for weeks, so we're honest about limits. There's no shame in a pet who needs a different setting; we'll help you find it.
Pricing honesty
The price you build online is the price at pick-up, adjusted only for things we phoned you about mid-groom.
If your dog sits on a size-band boundary, we charge the lower band.
Add-ons are flat and listed. There is no 'handling fee,' no 'special breed fee,' no seasonal surcharge that appears at the till.
Tips are never expected and always split across the whole team, bathers included.
