Grooming for animals who didn't ask for it
Cats don't pretend. A salon that works for them isn't a dog salon with a cat table — it's a different morning entirely: no dogs in the building, lights low, one cat on the schedule at a time, and a groomer who reads ears and tail before touching a comb.
The quiet-morning rules
- Dogs haven't arrived yet. Cat appointments run 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. — no barking through the wall, no dog smells fresh in the room.
- One cat at a time. Your cat never waits next to another animal, and Dana never splits her attention.
- No sedation, no exceptions. If a cat says a hard no, we stop, charge only for what was done, and plan a slower approach — or refer to your vet for a medical groom.
- Towel wraps, not restraint holds. Most cats accept most grooming when nothing is forced and everything is narrated. You're welcome to wait in the lobby.

About lion cuts
Sometimes the kind cut is the short one
A pelted coat pulls at the skin all day, every day. For heavily matted cats, a lion cut isn't a style choice — it's relief, and we treat it that way: assessed in person, explained plainly, priced from the published table, and done in one calm session without sedation. The mane and socks stay; the dignity stays too.
Seniors get extra accommodations — more breaks, a heated table pad, and a note to your vet if we find anything under the mats a vet should see. The matting policy applies to cats exactly as to dogs: we talk to you before we clip.
