September 2025 · The Saturday

We chose Alder House because it was the only venue that would tell us the price before we gave them a phone number. The day itself matched the website exactly — same numbers, same rooms, same rain plan we never needed. June made one quiet decision at 4 p.m. (moving cocktails to the terrace early) that we didn't hear about until the photos came back.

June 2024 · Estate Weekend

The weekend format is worth every dollar of the difference. Rehearsal dinner in the conservatory on Friday, wedding Saturday, and pancakes on the farmhouse porch Sunday with the people who mattered most. Nobody was watching a clock. The bonfire both nights is the thing our friends still bring up.

February 2026 · The Winter House

We had 68 guests and a snowstorm, and it was perfect. The paths were cleared before our hair and makeup team arrived, the hall smelled like woodsmoke, and the candle package in winter is genuinely absurd — in the best way. Half our photos look like a Dutch painting.

August 2025 · The Saturday

Honest review: the hall gets warm in early August before the sun drops — the big doors open at both ends helped, and by dinner it was lovely, but bring a hand fan if you run hot. Everything else was flawless, and the pricing was exactly what the website said fourteen months earlier. We'd choose it again in a heartbeat, maybe in September.

October 2024 · The Saturday

Our ceremony rain call was real — it poured at 9 a.m. and June phoned at 10 sharp like the contract said she would. We held our nerve, the sky cleared, and we married in the garden under fast clouds at 4:30. Knowing the conservatory was dressed and waiting is the reason we could enjoy the gamble.

We toured eleven venues. Alder House was the only one where the tour matched the listing — no 'starting at' pricing that doubled in the follow-up email, no landscaping that existed only on Instagram. The wisteria over the south wall in late May is not a stock photo. It's real and it's ridiculous.

July 2025 · The Saturday

The co-catering arrangement is the reason we booked. The estate kitchen worked beside my aunt's chosen Lebanese caterer for the mezze course and nobody made it complicated. Family-style down those long tables with 140 people is exactly what a wedding should look like.

December 2024 · The Winter House

Married in the hall at 3:30, dinner by 6, dancing until the 10:45 last song, and the curfew honestly made the night better — nobody's wedding needs a 1 a.m. dance floor with forty stragglers. Sixty guests, every one of them warm. The zero-proof bar package meant my dad was included for the first time at any family event.
