About the house

A small house with a long memory

Ferrobello Motors buys, sells and consigns classic cars the slow way. We check the history, inspect the metal, write it all down, and keep the collection small enough to know every car well.

Our story

It started with a thin file

Before Ferrobello, Elena Ferro spent fifteen years buying cars for private collections. Again and again she saw beautiful cars sold with thin, hopeful paperwork, and buyers who found out the truth a year later. In 2004 she opened a small showroom on Coachworks Row with one rule: the file comes first.

The workshop followed two years later, when Marcus Bell joined to run an inspection ramp of our own. The archive room came next, and with it our registrar, Saoirse Quinn, who now builds and checks every history file we hand over.

We have stayed small on purpose. A short list of cars means every one gets two days on the ramp, a written grade and a dossier we would be happy to defend. It also means you deal with the same few people from your first call to the day the car arrives home.

What we stand on

Four house rules

  1. 01

    Paperwork before paint

We read a car's file before we look at its shine. If a claim cannot be backed by a document, it does not go in the description.

  2. 02

    Say the unflattering part

Stone chips, weeping seals, a repaint, a modification: every finding goes in the report in plain words, before you commit.

  3. 03

    Conserve before restoring

A car is only original once. Where a finish is sound we keep it, and we recommission rather than rebuild whenever that is the honest choice.

  4. 04

    Plain prices

Every car shows an asking price. No buyer's premium, and the fees are written next to the price, not revealed at the desk.

The people

Who you will deal with

Come and see how we keep them

Ninety unhurried minutes with the cars, the ramp and the archive.
