FAQ

Questions, quietly answered.

Policies, hygiene, patch tests, and the small questions people feel shy asking. If yours isn't here, send us a note.

Our policies, in plain words.

Cancelling or moving a visit
Cancel or move your visit at least 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. With less notice, or if you don't show up, we charge half the booked price. We waive it the first time, because life happens.
Running late
Running late? Call or text us. Up to 10 minutes late, we still do your full service. After that we may shorten it so the next guest isn't kept waiting, and you only pay for what we did. Past 20 minutes, we'll help you rebook instead.

Need to change something? Call or text (416) 555-0176.

Booking and policies

Do you take walk-ins?

Rarely. We book appointments so every station can be fully reset between guests. If a same-day spot opens, we post it, so a quick call is always worth it. The visit builder shows open times for the next two weeks.

Why do prices say "from"?

The menu shows where each price starts. Extra length, nail art, or removing another salon's product can add a little. We always tell you the final number before we start, and we never add anything without asking.

Do you take a deposit?

No deposit for most visits. For visits over three hours, we keep a card on file. It is only charged under the cancellation policy above.

Can two of us book together?

Yes. The nail room has six stations, so pairs are easy. Add a note when you book and we'll seat you side by side. For the skin room, we book facials back to back.

Hygiene and tools

How do you clean and sterilise tools?

Metal tools are scrubbed, cleaned in an ultrasonic bath, then sterilised in an autoclave, a steam machine like the ones dental offices use. They're sealed in a pouch with a colour-change strip, and we open it at your station so you can see.

What do you only use once?

Anything that can't be sterilised: files, buffers, orange sticks, toe separators, wax spatulas, and dermaplaning blades. Your file goes home with you or in the bin.

How are the pedicure basins cleaned?

Our basins have no pipes or jets, so there's nowhere for water to sit. After every guest we empty, scrub, and disinfect the basin, then let it dry before it's used again.

Is the studio scent-free?

Close to it. We use low-odour gel, a vent at every station, and no candles or diffusers. Guests with sensitivities tell us it's the easiest salon air they've breathed.

The full list is on our six hygiene standards.

Skin, waxing, and patch tests

Do I need a patch test?

For a first brow tint, yes: we patch test at least 48 hours before. For a first wax, peel, or dermaplaning visit, we offer a free patch test if you have sensitive skin or allergies. Book it like any other visit, or ask at the desk.

How should I get ready for a facial?

Come as you are. We'll cleanse. Tell us when you book if you use a prescription retinoid, had a peel, laser, or injectables in the last two weeks, or have allergies, so we can choose the right products and pressure.

I use retinol or acne medicine. Can I still get waxed?

Tell us when you book. Retinoids and some acne medicines thin the skin, and wax can lift it. We may skip waxing that area and tweeze instead, or ask you to pause the product first if your doctor agrees.

Can I have a facial or wax while pregnant?

Often yes, with gentler products. Tell us when you book. We skip some actives and devices during pregnancy, and if your doctor has asked you to avoid something, we follow that.

Every facial and waxing page lists its own patch-test and aftercare notes.

Nails and gel

Can you take off gel or acrylic from another salon?

Yes. We soak it off properly, never peel or scrape. It adds a little time, so mention it when you book and we'll quote it before we start.

How long does gel last?

Two to three weeks on hands for most people, and often four or more on toes. Daily cuticle oil helps. When it's time, book a soak-off rather than peeling it at home.

Gift cards and packages

Do gift cards expire?

Never. They work for every service, add-on, and package, and any balance stays on the card for next time.

Can I change a package?

Yes. Add extras at menu price. If you remove a piece, pricing goes back to à la carte, and the visit builder tells you before it does.

Still wondering? Send us a note and we'll reply within a business day.

Build the visit. We'll keep it quiet.

Pick your services, watch the time and starting price add up, and choose a slot that suits you. About a minute, no account, no phone call.
