Orders and shipping
How much is shipping?
Standard shipping is $7 and takes 4 to 6 business days. It is free when your order is $150 or more. Express is $18 (2 business days) and Priority is $32 (next business day). Express and Priority are never free.
Where do you ship?
We ship to the United States and Canada. We don't ship anywhere else yet. All prices are in U.S. dollars.
When will my order leave the studio?
Orders placed by 12pm ET on a business day are packed and shipped the same day. Orders placed later, or on a weekend, ship the next business day. You get a tracking link by email as soon as it leaves.
Will I pay duties or customs fees?
No. Duties are already in our prices, so nothing extra is collected at your door in the U.S. or Canada.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, within one hour of ordering. Email us with your order number. After that it may already be packed, but you can still send it back for free once it arrives.
Returns and exchanges
What is your return policy?
You have 60 days from delivery to return anything. Clothes must be unworn and unwashed, with the tags still on. Trying something on at home is fine. Home pieces must be unused and in their original wrap.
Are returns free?
Yes, in the U.S. and Canada. We email you a prepaid return label. The shipping you paid on the first order is not refunded, unless we sent the wrong item or it arrived damaged.
How long does a refund take?
We refund to your original payment method within 5 business days of the return reaching our studio. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
Can I exchange for another size?
Yes, and exchanges are free. We ship the new size as soon as your return is scanned by the carrier, so you aren't waiting for it to reach us.
Can I return sale items?
Yes. Sale items follow the same 60-day rules as everything else. We don't have any final-sale items.
Fit and sizing
How do your sizes run?
Every piece is cut unisex and sized by chest measurement. Most styles are true to size. Each product page has a fit note, and the size guide has the full chart in inches and centimetres.
I'm between sizes. Which should I pick?
Check the fit note on the product page. Size down in the Deck Jacket. Size up in the Cropped Wool Blazer if you want to layer, and in the Boxy Tee if you want more length. If you guess wrong, exchanges are free.
Will it shrink?
Our tees are garment-dyed and our linen is stone-washed before it is sold, so they have already done their shrinking. Wash cold and dry flat or on low, and they will keep their size.
Repairs and care
What does repairs for life cover?
Anything we made, for as long as it exists: seams, zips, buttons, holes, re-waxing and darning. It is free. Normal wear and accidents both count. If it can't be fixed, we will tell you, and offer store credit toward a new one.
How do I start a repair?
Send us a message with a photo of the problem. We email a prepaid label, or you can drop it at our Halifax workroom. Most repairs are back with you in about two weeks.
How do I re-wax the Deck Jacket?
Once a year, rub a thin coat of wax into the outside with a cloth, then warm it with a hair dryer so it soaks in. Re-wax kits ship free to anyone who owns the jacket.

Where are your clothes made?
In three factories that we name on our sustainability page: Fall Harbour Workroom in Nova Scotia, Braga Stitchworks in Portugal, and Karnataka Knit Co-op in India.
What payment do you take?
In a real store: major credit and debit cards. In this demo store, checkout is a preview. No payment is taken and no order is sent.
Is Field & Crest a real brand?
No. Field & Crest is a fictional brand built to show what a clothing store website can look like. The products, people, reviews and numbers are made up, and nothing you do here is sent anywhere.
