Field & Crest Hudson NY workshop
The story

Hudson, NY.
Since 2014.

A small studio in upstate New York. Eight people. Fourteen mills. A 4th-generation flagship cotton tee.

Linen flat lay in the studio
2014 — the beginning

Started with one t-shirt.

Founder Sarah Crest ran a small Hudson Valley studio designing for other brands. In 2014 she made one t-shirt for herself in Portuguese organic cotton — the kind of weight that holds up for years. Friends asked for one. Then their friends.

By 2017 the original cotton tee was on its 2nd generation. Today it’s on its 4th. The team is 8 people. The line has expanded into 62 styles, 14 mill partners, and home goods.

No outside investors. No celebrity endorsements. No fast-fashion seasonal turnover.

Repair workshop
Lifetime guarantee — for real

We pay for repairs forever.

Every piece carries a lifetime guarantee. If something tears, frays, or fails — even after a decade — we repair it free of charge. Our Hudson workshop handles repairs in-house; turnaround is typically 2-3 weeks.

If we can’t repair it, we replace it. The replacement comes from current production, in your size, at no charge. We’ve replaced about 340 pieces over the years.

This isn’t a marketing position — it’s how we’ve operated since 2014. The economics work because our pieces are designed to last and most of our customers stay with us for 8+ years.

Bought my first cotton tee in 2016. They replaced it free of charge in 2023 when the collar finally wore out. That’s a 7-year shirt.

Sarah personally responded to my email about a mill question. Tell me one other brand at this price point where the founder still answers her own emails.

The waxed jacket has gotten more compliments than any piece of clothing I’ve ever owned. And I’ve worn it through three winters.
