Questions, answered straight

The questions people ask before spending thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours. If yours isn't here, ask it. A person on the admissions team replies within 2 business days. No pressure calls, no countdown timers.

Admissions and fit

Do I need a degree or prior experience?

No degree is required, and every program starts from zero. Every admit does a free prep course before day 1 (10 to 20 hours, depending on the program). It's the honest way to find out whether you enjoy the work before you pay for it.

How long does applying take, and what happens next?

The application takes about 20 minutes. Within 2 business days a person from admissions emails you to book a 30-minute video call. There is no test and no sales script. If we think a different program, or no bootcamp at all, fits your goal better, we'll say so.

Can I sit in on a class before deciding?

Yes. Any applicant can audit one live session of any program before enrolling. Ask for it on the admissions call.

Who should not enroll?

If you need senior-level pay in your first year, can't protect the weekly hours, or mainly want a credential, a bootcamp is the wrong tool. Tell us your situation and we'll be straight with you.

Time and schedule

How many hours a week does it really take?

Full-time is about 40 hours a week: 30 live hours (Monday to Friday) plus about 10 hours of project work. Part-time is 16 to 18 hours a week: 11 live hours (two weeknights and Saturday) plus 5 to 7 hours of project work. The three checkpoint weeks in each program usually run 5 to 8 hours over.

Can I keep my full-time job?

On the part-time track, yes. It's built for working adults, and it's demanding but doable. On the full-time track, no. Full-time means full-time, and our cost calculator adds the pay you'd give up to the real cost.

What if I miss a live session?

Every session is recorded for review, and your TA will help you catch up. Attendance still matters: after 3 missed sessions in one phase, your instructor checks in about a pause so you don't fall behind for good.

Which time zones do classes run in?

Full-time sessions run 11am to 5pm Eastern (8am to 2pm Pacific). Part-time cohorts run on either Eastern or Pacific evenings. If you live outside North America, tell us your time zone and we'll be honest about whether a cohort is workable.

Tuition and payment

What does it cost in total?

Paying upfront: $9,900 for Full-Stack Web Development, $7,900 for Data Analytics or $8,700 for UX Design. Monthly installments cost $650 to $700 more than upfront. Deferred tuition costs $3,980 to $4,860 more. Every total is on the pricing page, side by side.

What does deferred tuition actually cost me?

More, and we print exactly how much. For Full-Stack Web Development, deferred tuition totals $14,760 (36 payments of $410) versus $9,900 upfront: $4,860 more. That total is a hard cap with no interest on top. You owe the payments whether or not you get a job. It's a loan-style plan, not an income-share agreement, and it exists for people who truly can't pay now.

Do you offer an income-share agreement (ISA)?

No. An ISA takes a share of your income for a set time once you earn above a minimum, up to a cap. Example: 12% of pay for 24 months above $40,000, capped at $15,000. On a $68,500 salary that cap is reached. Our pricing page walks through the math so you can compare.

Is there interest on monthly installments?

No interest. A fixed plan fee is built into the total ($200 for Full-Stack Web Development), and the total is printed before you sign anything.

Can I use financial aid or money from my employer?

Northpath isn't eligible for federal student aid (FAFSA), and we won't pretend otherwise. Many students use an employer learning budget. We provide an itemized invoice and a syllabus for your employer, and payments can be split between you and them.

Every total, side by side: pricing and cost calculator.

Refunds and pausing

What happens if I fall behind or want out?

Weeks 1 and 2: leave for a full refund, deposit included, no questions asked. Weeks 3 to 6: you get back the share of tuition for the weeks you won't attend. After week 6: tuition is committed and there is no refund. We say that up front.

Can you show me a refund with real numbers?

Example: you pay $9,900 upfront for the 16-week Full-Stack Web Development program and leave after week 4. You get back 12 of 16 weeks, which is $7,425. On the deferred plan, you would owe 4 of 16 weeks of the deferred total instead.

Can I pause if life gets in the way?

Yes, once, at no charge. You rejoin a later cohort at the start of the phase you left, and your payments pause with you.

Jobs and outcomes

Do you guarantee a job?

No, and we'd encourage you to read the fine print of any school that says it does. Job guarantees usually come with conditions that are easy to miss (application quotas, location limits, response windows). What we offer instead: outcomes with a public method, and career support that starts in week 1 and continues until you're hired, with no time cap.

Where do your outcomes numbers come from?

The yearly outcomes report counts every graduate in the window, including the ones we couldn't reach, and checks placements against offer letters or payslips. The figures on this site are example figures; the method is what you should judge any school on.

How long does the job search usually take?

In the example 2025 report, 71.5% of graduates were working in the field within 180 days and 79.5% within a year. Graduates who got hired typically sent 8 or more applications a week for about 3 months. Some took longer, and some are still looking.

Does career support stop after graduation?

No. Career Services keeps working with graduates until they're hired, with no time cap: mock interviews, portfolio reviews and help reading offers.

The full example report and method: outcomes.

Learning online

What computer do I need?

Any laptop from the last 5 years with 8 GB of memory, a webcam, a headset and steady internet. A second monitor helps but isn't required. UX students use Figma's free education plan.

What does a live session look like?

A short instructor demo, then most of the time in pairs or small groups in breakout rooms, with TAs moving between rooms. Cameras on is the norm, because pairing works better face to face.

Can I use AI assistants?

Yes, from week 5, with one rule: you must be able to explain everything you hand in. Checkpoints include a live walkthrough, and work you can't explain doesn't pass.

Still have a question?

Send it, however blunt. Questions about our numbers go straight to the person who compiles the outcomes report.
