Own a piece of the place for $5

One $5 share makes you a member-owner: same rates as everyone, one vote at the annual meeting, and a say in where the grants go. Here's who's eligible — spoiler: almost certainly you.

Path 1

You live, work, worship, or study in Greater Boston

Suffolk, Norfolk, or Middlesex County — home, job, school, or congregation, any one counts.

Path 2

Someone in your family is a member

Spouse, partner, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, or grandchild of a current member — and household members too.

Path 3

Your employer is a partner organization

120+ Greater Boston schools, hospitals, nonprofits, and small businesses offer membership as a benefit. Ask HR or just ask us.

Path 4

None of the above? Join the Neighbors Fund

A one-time $10 donation to our financial-literacy nonprofit partner makes anyone in Massachusetts eligible. The $10 goes to classrooms, not to us.

How do you qualify?

Does joining cost anything?

$5 — and it isn't a fee, it's your share. It sits in your Share Savings, it's yours, and you get it back if you ever leave.

Do I have to switch everything?

No. Plenty of members start with just the High-Yield Savings and move the rest when the old bank annoys them enough. It usually does.

What if my credit is rough?

Membership doesn't check credit at all. Loans do — but our lenders explain every "not yet" with a path to "yes", and the education hub is free either way.
