Tell the calculator how often your household actually sees a doctor. It compares your membership fee against typical à-la-carte costs — and tells you honestly if the answer is “this is about access, not savings.”
Common questions
No. Membership covers your primary care relationship — visits, access, coordination — directly, with no claims involved. It is not an insurance product and doesn't satisfy coverage mandates. Most members pair Atrium with a high-deductible or catastrophic plan for hospital care, specialists, and prescriptions.
We strongly recommend it. Membership makes the everyday 90% of healthcare calm and predictable; insurance exists for the rare, expensive 10% — surgery, hospital stays, emergencies. High-deductible plans pair especially well, since you'll rarely touch the deductible for primary care.
Panel size. A typical primary care physician carries 2,000+ patients; ours are capped at 350 members. That single number is why visits run 30–60 minutes, why same-day access is normal, and why your physician can answer messages personally.
You can join the waitlist for a specific physician or start with another Atrium physician and transfer when space opens. Panels open a handful of spots most months as members relocate.
Anytime, with 30 days' written notice — no contracts, no cancellation fees. Annual members are refunded unused full months beyond the notice period.
Most members successfully use HSA/FSA funds for membership fees, and we provide itemized receipts. Rules vary by plan administrator, so we recommend a quick confirmation with yours — we're happy to supply the documentation they ask for.
