Where should I go?

Two questions, no medical jargon. This guide doesn't diagnose anything — it routes you to the right front door and tells you why that door fits. A nurse is always one call away if you'd rather talk it through: (616) 555-0119, 24/7.

Before anything else

Is any of this happening right now?

  • Chest pain or pressure, or pain spreading to the arm, neck, or jaw
  • Signs of stroke — face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech, sudden confusion
  • Severe trouble breathing
  • Bleeding that won't stop, or a major injury
  • Sudden severe headache — “the worst of my life”
  • Thoughts of suicide or of harming someone (or call/text 988)
  • A baby under 3 months old with a fever

When one of these is true, minutes matter more than any guide. Everything else can wait two questions.

This guide offers navigation, not medical advice or diagnosis. It never replaces clinical judgment — when in doubt, call the nurse line; when in danger, call 911. (Demo site: all phone numbers are fictional.)
