Riverbank East opens expanded Infusion Center, doubling cancer-care capacity on the east side
Twelve new garden-view infusion bays mean most patients can now receive chemotherapy within fifteen minutes of home — with Saturday hours for people who work weekdays.
Riverbank East Hospital has opened its expanded Infusion Center, growing from ten to twenty-two treatment bays and adding Saturday hours for the first time. The new bays face the hospital's east garden, and each seats a companion — a detail requested by the center's own patient advisory council.
“Nobody should have to plan their life around a drive downtown for treatment they receive every week,” said the center's nursing director. “Doubling east-side capacity means most of our patients are now fifteen minutes from their infusion chair.”
The expansion was funded in part by the Riverbank Health Foundation's Cancer Care Fund. Patients can ask their oncology team about transferring infusion visits to East at their next appointment — no new referral is needed, because both centers work from the same medical record.
