A first visit, start to finish

No mystery and no rush. Here is what a real first visit plan looks like for a two-year-old, and what you take home after.

Parents stay close

For little ones, the exam happens knee-to-knee: your child lies back across your lap and ours. You can see every tooth we count.

Our daughter had a bad visit somewhere else and screamed in the parking lot. They let her just sit in the chair and leave the first time. The second visit she let them clean her teeth.

Dev P. Parent of a 6-year-old

The planning call asked things no office has ever asked. They dimmed the lights, used his headphones and had the visual schedule ready. First cleaning in two years with no meltdown.

Reviews are from parents and never name or show a child.

Kids who need things done differently

Big fears, sensory differences, medical needs or a lot of treatment at a young age. We plan the visit with you first, and we only talk about sedation when it truly helps your child.

Our four promises

  • Parents stay in the room

Every room, every visit, if you want to. You see what we see and hear what we say.

  • Tell, show, then do

We name each tool, let your child touch it, then use it. No surprises, no scolding.

  • Options and prices in writing

If your child needs treatment, you get the choices and the costs on paper before anything starts.

  • Short, kind, on time

Little ones get short visits early in the day. We run on time so school pickup still works.

Insurance, in plain words

We check your child's benefits before every visit and call you if anything will cost more than you expect.

  • PPO dental plans

We're in network with most PPO dental plans from employers and the marketplace. Checkups and cleanings are often covered in full.

  • Health First Colorado and CHP+

We welcome kids covered by Colorado's Medicaid dental plan and CHP+. Same team, same times, same care.

  • No insurance

Join Kite Club for a flat monthly fee, or pay our published self-pay prices. You always see the cost first.

No insurance? Kite Club is $32 a month per child and covers both checkups.

What parents ask first

When should my child first see a dentist?

Pediatric dental guidelines say by the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth. If your child is older and hasn't been yet, that's fine. Book a first visit now and we'll start from where you are.

Can I stay with my child during the visit?

Yes. Parents and guardians are welcome in every room, at every visit. Teens can choose a few minutes alone with the dentist if they want.

Does my child need sedation?

Most children don't. We only suggest it when it truly helps, and we explain every option, benefit and risk in plain words before you decide.

Which insurance do you take?

Most PPO dental plans, plus Health First Colorado and CHP+. We check your child's benefits before every visit and call you if anything will cost more than expected.
