What you can do online

The Lakeshore patient portal is HIPAA-compliant, available 24/7, and integrates with your in-office care. Most patients use it for between-visit communication, refills, and reviewing their records.

💬

Secure messaging

Message Dr. Voss + the care team directly. Average response during business hours: under 1 business day. Not for emergencies.

📋

View records + lab results

All your visit notes, EKGs, echo reports, and lab results are available in real-time. Most lab results post within 24 hours of testing.

🔁

Request refills

Request a prescription refill directly from the portal. Most refills handled within 24 business hours.

📅

Book + manage appointments

Schedule, cancel, or reschedule established-patient appointments. New-patient consults still need to be requested through the scheduling team.

Visit preparation

What to bring + how to prepare for each visit type

Different visit types have different prep. Below is a quick reference for the most common.

Before any visit

  • Insurance card + photo ID
Updated annually; please bring on every visit
  • List of current medications
Including dosages + frequency · OTC supplements + vitamins too
  • Recent labs (last 12 months)
If from an outside lab; we’ll request transfers in advance if you tell us
  • Family history details
Parents + siblings cardiac history with ages of events

Stress test prep

  • No caffeine for 24 hours prior
Caffeine affects stress test results · this includes decaf
  • Wear comfortable clothing + sneakers
Athletic shoes + comfortable clothes you can exercise in
  • Light meal 2-3 hours before
Don’t come fasting; don’t come full
  • Hold beta blockers if directed
Dr. Voss will give specific instructions; don’t stop without instruction

Echo prep

  • Eat normally
    No fasting required for echo
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing
    Easy access to the chest
  • Allow 45-60 minutes total
Echo itself takes 30-45 min; prep + check-out adds 15 min
  • Continue all medications
    No medication changes for echo

Holter monitor pickup

  • 30-minute pickup appointment
We attach the monitor, walk through usage, hand off the diary
  • Wear normally — no shower/bath
Sponge bath only during the 24-48 hour wear period
  • Keep the diary current
Note any symptoms with the time they occur · the diary is critical for analysis
  • Return on schedule
Drop off the monitor at the end of the wear period; no appointment needed
