How flat is the floor?

Roll a marble across the floor, or lay a long level on it: gaps you can slide a coin under usually mean some patching. A floor that bounces or dips near the middle of a room needs a closer look.

Stairs Number of steps A straight staircase between floors is usually 12 to 14 steps. Enter 0 for none.

How the math works

See the price board

Floor area: Length times width for each room, added together. That's what labour is priced on.
Waste: Extra material for cuts and spares: 10% for most plank, 12% for carpet rolls, 15% for tile. Added to material only.
Removal and levelling: Priced per square foot of floor, because that's how the work scales.
Rounding: Each line is rounded to the nearest $10, and the total is widened to the nearest $50, so the range never looks more precise than it is.
